Paddy’s Markets Flemington
Paddy’s Flemington was established in 1975 when Paddy’s stallholders in Haymarket were asked to vacate the No. 6 building to make way for the Entertainment Centre. A weekend market was created at Flemington to cater to the relocated traders.
Housed in Building D at the 42ha Sydney Markets Limited site in Flemington, the Paddy’s traders embraced its new home with a warm reception from western Sydney residents.
After the redevelopment and opening of what is now known as Market City in 1997, whilst some traders returned to Haymarket, Paddy’s retained its Flemington weekend markets as a result of the doubled capacity.
